My husband was in a writing mood today, so I invited him to be a guest blogger on EarthSkySun. With our flight to Texas only a few days away for a cousin’s wedding, we spent some time today reminiscing about our own wedding and honeymoon. Our first ride consisted of getting thrown up on our horse and the wranglers saying “Hold on.” It was at an all inclusive resort so the horseback ride was part of the inclusive. Horseback Ride on the Continental Divide

Horseback Riding CDTFor the horse lover in all of us, one of the most extreme and beautiful horseback rides is along the continental divide. No horseback rider has successfully ridden the entire trail in one pass because of the challenging terrain and lack of water. You can ride your own horse or hire an outfitter. Either way, be sure to pack plenty of water as potable water sources are scarce on the trail and subject to the maintenance of local ranchers. [Read more…]
